I have been looking to famliarize myself with performing an import based on an the following xml definition

<server>
<node name="server1" >
<service>1</service>
<service>2</service>
<service>3</service>
</node>
</server>

I have set the item path to server.node.service, but the links do not seem to self generate the same as if i import through a csv file...not sure what I am doing wrong.

where do you want to see links between node and service?

we don't handle xml attributes so you may do better with a def. more like this
<server>
<nodes>
<node>
<name>server1</name>
<service>1</service>
<service>2</service>
<service><3></service>
</node>
</nodes>
<server>

then set your path to server.nodes.node and the key to server.nodes.node.name

You can use the ReadXml method to read XML schema and data into a DataSet. XML data can be read directly from a file, a Stream object, an XmlWriter object, or a TextWriter object.

You can use one of two sets of overloaded methods for the ReadXml method, depending on your needs. The first set of four overloaded methods takes just one parameter. The second set of four overloaded methods take an additional parameter (XmlReadMode) along with one of the parameters from the first set.

Thanks
