I'm somewhat new to VUE, so please forgive me if this is an obvious question; I looked for the answer in the documentation without success, but that may be a lack of comprehension on my end.

I have a dataset similar to a classic org chart, with employer / employee reporting hierarchy. In database terms, it's a "self join" relationship... the foreign key refers to another record in the same dataset.

The CSV would be structured something like:

Employee,Boss
Simon,n/a
Bob,Simon
James,Simon
Eric,Bob
Sam,Bob

Thus, Sam reports to Bob, and Bob reports to Simon.

Is there any way to create this association in VUE? Do I have to create a separate "joining" dataset to do so?

Thanks much!

If you structured the data with a 3rd column that explicitly stated the relationship i could show you how to do it, would that work?

Employee,relationship,Boss
Simon,is employee of, n/a
Bob,is employee of, Simon
James,is employee of, Simon
Eric,is employee of, Bob
Sam,is employee of, Bob

That would be a perfectly acceptable solution, yes. Can we include one more arbitrary data attribute as well, just so I see where it gets included?

I'm wondering if you're proposing a matrix solution here.

Expanded Example:
Employee,Salary,relationship,Boss
Simon,70000,is employee of, n/a
Bob,50000, is employee of, Simon
James,50000,is employee of, Simon
Eric,30000,is employee of, Bob
Sam,30000,is employee of, Bob

Thanks much for the help, Mike!

Still hoping for an answer on this one, if you have the opportunity. Thanks again.
