Welcome to the VUE translation family! Here are some instructions and hints:

1. Do not modify any line beginning with the character #. These are comments and should be left in English.
2. Translate only the part of a line to the RIGHT of the = sign; the part to the left of the = sign is the property name and must not be changed.
3. Do not modify html tags like <b>, </b> or <br>.
4. %s, %d, and {0} are placeholders for VUE to insert values and should not be modified.

There are several free text editors that you can use. JEdit is available for both Windows and Macintosh OS X from www.jedit.org. Windows users can also use MS Word, and Mocintosh users can use TextWrangler, available from www.barebones.com/products/TextWrangler. Please save your files in utf-8 format.

Please return your work to us by posting it on the VUE Users Forum under the subject for your language.

Thanks very much for your work! We look forward to seeing VUE in a new language.

Regards,

Hi,

I'm working on this translation.
Is there a way to see my translation on VUE?
I want to see if my translation will fit in there.

Thanks

The best way is to post your translation file back to this forum. I'll integrate it into VUE and it will be available in the next automatic build within twenty minutes.

Brian

Is that OK to post the incomplete translation?

I upload a translated file.
This is not completed, but I want to see how they are displayed on the actual menus.

I hope this will be helpful.

Thanks

Hi Kazuo,

I've committed your translation and it will be in the next build which you can download at http://releases.atech.tufts.edu/vue/latest/. It looks great! It's really exciting to see VUE in Japanese. Thanks very much for your work.

I found two problems that I fixed. I attached a copy of the file with the fixes. They were to the following properties:

dockWindow.Resources.helpText
repositoryexception.permissiondenied

You can use this file to continue your work and you don't have to worry about either of those two properties -- when I was looking into this I found that the first property is no longer used. The second property was just missing a newline.

Thanks again for your work and let me know if I can do anything to help.

Regards,
Brian

Hi Kaneda-san,

I'm really glad to hear from Japanese VUE user.
I use VUE for a few years, but only for limited functions.
As I described above, my translation is not completed.
I'm checking the latest VUE to fix them, but I haven't
seen all my translation on the application.

What is "dirty-hacked VUE"?
Anyway, I'm interested in seeing your VUE.
I'll post a message on your twitter site.

Thanks,

Kazuo

Hi Mori-san,

Thanks for your replying.

I wanted to translate VUE to japanese, but I was not in trouble in English, so I postponed it until now :-P

Therefore I'm glad to see you on the site :-)

I have been using VUE as note taking, personal brainstorming by KJ-method, presentation with pathway, drawing diagrams with layer, qualitative analysis by using dataset, etc.

Although I made VUE possible to export PDF as japanese characters, the hack was strong dirty because of using font name directly :-(

I have many "bad-know-how" :-P, so please ask me.

best regards,
-Takeshi
