How about some configurable tools that allow for project planning and tracking?

Specifically:

Start/End dates around a node (for network diagramming in the project sense). Or rather than dates, start-from-zero and enter a duration on the node so the total time along a path can be tabulated.
Preset fields or templates within nodes. Essentially a configurable form for prompting data input.
Option for a timeline with snapping. This could be generalized, I suppose, to a single-row column that extends some user-defined number of cells.

I've got several more, but this would be an amazing enhancement. I use VUE for taking notes, brainstorming, laying out project tasks, tracking work status, and building relationship maps for resources. While not as romantic as purely academic pursuits, it is regardless a need in the market. I've shown VUE to everyone I can, and all find a slightly different use for it than I expected. So I'm not asking for any constraints, just additional tools to expand its use.

Thanks!

I wish Vue would expand in this direction too.
Having a date node would be so useful.

You could even take it further, hook up with node.js, in a similar way to http://nodered.org/ so that you could send alerts & notifications on 'tasks node'.

I think adding a date/time dimension to Vue, coupled with notifications, would really turn static maps into actionable maps.

If Vue went in this direction, it really would be amazing.

I think VUE is not the tool for project management.

It is a concept tool. You can add concepts about the questions you have to check in your proyects, but not to control them.
I use Freeplane, a mind mapping tool.
