I'm using Version 2.0 beta1b59 on Windows. Yesterday I tried using VUE in my general chemistry I lecture. VUE may change how I approach teaching. Anyway, here are some ideas for your consideration.
1) The shortcut key under View for "Zoom In" is Ctrl+Equals. Consider changing that to Ctrl++. Ctrl+Plus is the combination I first tried, because that is what is used in Microsoft Word (for superscripts), in Firefox, and in Internet Explorer 7.0. Although Ctrl+Equals requires one less keystroke (don't have to press the shift key), it may not be what most users expect.
2) The space bar advances to the next slide. Consider having shift+space bar to go to the previous slide. I tried it, so at least some users will try it.
3) The most unpleasant issue with the software for me has been discovering how to close a window. Consider adding something like
"Close Slide Window DblClick"
to the "View" menu.
4) I am using VUE as an alternative to PowerPoint, so I have added lots of pictures to my map. (OK, the one map I've created contained three pictures.) Each time the "Add Image/File..." dialog box is opened, the current directory is "My Documents". Consider having the current directory be the last directory opened in the current session. That will save having to navigate to the user's graphics storage directory each time a picture is added.
Thanks for making your software available.
