This is not a map made in VUE but rather a simple help to allign objects in a map. I was a little disappointed that VUE can not display an orientation grid. Since I needed one for some diagrams on processes, I simply made a grid with GIMP, saved it as png and use it in VUE whenever I need a grid. The grid's size is 1882x1093.
How to use it:
Open your map or open a new map in VUE. Have a layer be the one beneath all other layers and put into that layer a node with lines 0px. Import the image into the node, then right-click the image and choose Picture/Original Size from the contextual menue. Eventuall use the hand symbol to position the grid as you like.
To go on with your map, simply lock this layer and put anything else into other layers on top of the grid-layer.
Hope this helps,
cheers
Luka

I share your disappointment in not being able to display a gird. Should be simple code - any developers willing to take it on?
For the time being, importing a grid image as you suggested will have to do. Thanks, I had never thought of that but only just discovered layers.

Id love to get more aquainted with your forum.
Currently a friend and I are learning GIS platforms and a little bit of Python. (As little as possible!) We are finding that the real fun in the future lies in what is outside of our atmosphere. I am looking into the types of energy created upon impact, in open space, and what will happen to the energy after the impact.
FYI- We are using a lot of fun tools like QGIS and some pretty neat social media API's to create very unique 2D and 3D models. Looking forward to checking out the one from VUE that I just downloaded.
Any tips for a newb??
Question? Has anyone ever run an experiment on impacts and energy here or in know anyone that works in near space? Looking for one that was recorded and documented?
That would be awesome! We are using another cool tool called RipTiger. It captures and stores all activity on the screen so you can rewind, take notes etc... Hence why I ask. (You can get it free too with a .edu email address. RipTiger.com is their site. )
I look forward to hearing back from you guys and thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
W.S.
