I'm a PhD candidate who just used VUE to present an outline of my dissertation in Beijing I was using Freeplane, which is also outstanding, to map out much of my research.
But Freeplane is not well-suited to making presentations, and so I decided to take the plunge and try out VUE. I found it to be far simpler than I thought and within a day had completed a rather nice presentation.
But I encountered many bugs in the course of working with the program:
- undo function could not undo many of the problems ie) text in a node deleted accidentally, and was not recoverable.
- lot of problems resizing text boxes inside the slide view: text boxes jumped all over, and could not be resized using the left side "handle"
- numerous other small problems
I would love to see a new updated version released to address these errors, and keep old fans, and new ones like me interested and assured that VUE is very much alive.
I hope the development work is going well! Thank you again!
Yesterday I downloaded and installed the new version of VUE. Its impressive and the errors I reported before appear to be all solved.
This is very encouraging to users of VUE: the program is alive and well, problems are addressed and new features are being added.
I will look forward to seeing the release of new features that mimic some of PREZI's "fly-over" and "jump" features.
I think these features will attract considerable attention.
And I know that many of us will watch VUE and spread the word as much as possible.
