URL in a node and associated behaviour  XML

Hello VUErs, my first post on this forum.
I have two questions about putting an URL in a node:

1. When I put a node with an URL inside, clicking it I would expect that my default browser (firefox) would appear, instead I see google chrome popping up. Any hints?
2. Once the browser is opened, there is no way to work on the map until the browser is closed. It seems like the browser (or any other application like pdf viewer,
image viewer etc) are kept in "foreground" (and not in "background"). Is it correct? Is it wanted?

I'm on Linux (Mint 17, 32 bit).

Thanks for the feedback.

So I believe it'll just use whatever browser is associate with the 'open' command, not sure how to change the association.
