Hi. I've been trying to generate a runnable .jar file from VUE's source code.

The command "ant all" generated a .jar file named "VUE-core.jar".

But when I type "java -jar VUE-core.jar" to run it, I get this error:

no main manifest attribute, in VUE-core.jar

To investigate, I unzipped the .jar file and looked inside the MANIFEST.MF file in the META-INF folder.

This is all the text that MANIFEST.MF contained:

Manifest-Version: 1.0
Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.96
Created-By: 1.8.0_51-b16 (Oracle Corporation)

Judging by the "build.xml" file for Apache Ant in the VUE source code's "src" folder, there are supposed to be more details in MANIFEST.MF, but, I don't know how to make those details be added automatically.

(But, happily, at least I'm able to run VUE, just by typing "ant" while in the "src" folder. I discovered that by accident. :) I'm a Java newbie.)

Additional details. I'm using:

* The zip file of VUE's source code from:

(I just downloaded it via the link on that page, rather than by using console commands. I haven't gotten very acquainted with Git yet.)

* The official Java JDK version 8u51 from:

* Apache Ant version 1.9.6 from:

* Lucid Puppy Linux 5.2.8 version 004:

Thanks for any help!

Best wishes,

I had the same problem, and I discovered that that wasn't the finally built file.

try: VUE/VUE2/src/build $ java -jar VUE.jar
