All of a sudden VUE won't start anymore on my system. During start up process I am getting the following message:

java.lang.RuntimeException: C:\Users\lpe.CAREUM.001\vue_2:cannot be created
at tufts.vue.VueUtil.getDefaultUserFolder(VueUtil.java:191)
at tufts.vue.Images.getCacheDirectory(Images.java:2745)
at tufts.vue.Images.loadDiskCache(Images.java:214)
at tufts.vue.VUE.initApplication(VUE.java:1293)
at tufts.vue.VUE.main(VUE.java:1063)

And that's it, nothing else happens. Only the splash screen appeares and oddly enough keeps visible on screen.

I need to use VUE on a map that needs an update and hope you can soon give me an answer.

It's not gotten better in the meantime. I've uninstalled and reinstalled VUE completely. Still, I cannot start VUE, though the message has changed. It now only states:
Error: Unable to access jarfile [installation_path\VUE\VUE.jar].

The installation path is correct, but I just realised that it doesn't contain VUE.jar.
I am uninstalling and reinstalling now again.

... Some minutes later ...

After reinstalling VUE, I am getting the long error message again, which I had quotet in my first post.

... Again some minutes later ....

I associated the VUE.jar file directly with JRE. This enables me to start VUE directly via the VUE.jar file, but only on this way.

Some help on this is very appreciated.

Making the folders manually as discussed in this thread may solve your problem: https://vue-forums.uit.tufts.edu/posts/list/417.page
