Well I think I've had this nod before, haha I want to see Vue as a group think and solve software, I understand having multiple users to the same map would be a lot of work to write into the software, but -z::)) it'd be worth it. // I'm looking for a solution to just this problem now, for Transitionsarasota.com so we can have the think / adviser groups working together even when were not at meetings... / ciao

Well if vue should ever become a multi-user programm you might even include some chat and teamspeak in this future future future... release...
But as Vue than could be used to share files movies ..data ... a good and secure system needs to be build. You probably dont want your possible other users vermins. Furthermore as this multiuser thing should probably run over an external server [vue server software] (someone might work on ideas even if the other are not online) it needs some level of security that vue is not missused as sharing software!

I might see a bit black and white here but these are some problems which might coming with it. Still i think its a good idea and you have my vote for it but personal i believe thats something to be done on a long run. At this point vues top priority should be the single-user applications and usage . At least i think thats an area its mostly used for, even in the future..but i might be wrong so. Secondly parallel development of a vue server will need extra attention and efford..which might be slowing down its own development (what i wouldnt like).

:) wish ya a nice day

what your talking about comes with having a shared server anyway. security and guidelines for conduct which you don't face in a stand alone situation. However cmapper* is a ready alternative for some people's needs. Open source runs it's own world of advantages and disadvantages but linix is better then win or mac in my opinion. - have a great weekend.

Well;
I contacted cmapper with success, but it was hard to figure out after set up. - maybe i just sound dumb, but getting multiple people to use it and save and open maps in the file / folder system didn't happen. - that was as back when this thread started so maybe it's been improved since then.
but streamline interface is definitely important like VUE has.

I love Open source software to of course. I have duel boot and another laptop just Debian but that's another story.

though I tried cmapper on windows because I knew I'd have to direct other people using Windoz in set up and usage.

dream land = I wish my desktop and file system looked like Vue. There was a Dutch open source project that attempted it but I don't think it's still running.

This to shall pass ~

THE POINT:
I just got back to Greece from 6 months in China, I am trying to co-operate a trade business with Greeks, Chinese, and a couple Californians.

I may move to UAE soon and be running two businesses in this fashion.

If there was a multi user interface, I could stream line this co-operation. I'm dreaming anyway so, ;z) maybe someday.
