VUE/Windows consistently crashes with two monitors  XML

For example, using VUE 2.1.18 on a Windows XP machine with two monitors:

1. Start VUE
2. Windows>Resources
3. Move the main window to the second monitor

There are many variations, e.g.
* move the Windows>Search window to the second
monitor, and type something in the search box;
* use VUE 2.1.10

Thanks. Please feel free to email any questions to me at peak@princeton.edu

Thank you. I've entered your report into our bug tracker. We will try to replicate the issue on our end to see what fixing it would entail.

Our developers were unable to replicate the crashes/behavior your described on a two monitor Windows XP setup. Perhaps it is some sort of unique video card issue? We will keep an eye if any other reports of a similar behavior surface...

When I ran VUE 2.1.16 from the source code in Eclipse, the error messages in Appendix 1 below are generated when the crash occurs.

The log file is rather large, but I've included some extracts in Appendix 2 below.

If you'd like a complete log file, perhaps email would be better?

The two display adapters are both labeled "256MB ATI RADEON X600".

Thanks,
Peter Koppstein

Thank you for the extensive report. I've asked one of our developers to look into the cause of the issue (JVM or VUE).

Folks, we believe this is a JVM bug. Here are some references to it:

http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=547865&forumID=32
another post we found suggested that a reinstall of the jvm solved a similar problem.

an old bug with multiple monitors, but apparently has reappeared in 1.5
http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4417798

Hopefully, Sun will fix this soon. Until then, please do keep us posted if you find any solution for this.
