I think it would be useful if areas of the map - nodes, links etc could be collapsed or even hidden. This would be useful to not overpower a class by having them view the map in its entirety and allow the pacing of the discovery of the map

Thanks!

I have tried VUE for some days now.
I usually use Freemind.

The lack of collapsing nodes in VUE is the reason why I'm choosing Freemind. So far it is the only reason.
Fix this, and VUE will be superior.

We have a "Pruning" function that might address your need.

In the main menu, go under "View" and select "Pruning". This will turn the pruning feature on. When pruning is active, clicking on a link will display the collapse/expand tool.

Thank you very much for the tip.
I think this is what I was looking for.
However, this feature deserves to be put forward as a "selling point" for VUE. Not hidden away.

And the word "pruning"....it's not as intuitive as it should be. Why not call it "Collapsing nodes"?

I would like to see the output of a "prunned" node be accessible to a user (someone accessing the map on the web) to expand/collaspe on the html generated for the web. Currently they are used to seeing a "+" or "-" sign to identify this ability. The expanded node(s) should have all resources also available. In this environment they would be able to see the top level and then expand to a more in depth view where/when they wanted.....

thanks
