Is it possible to exchange Concept Maps with CmapTools? If so how can this be done? So far I have not found any way of doing this.

Nikolai ... (previous response in the bug listing did not display the whole of this message??). ... It is both a wish list item and also what looks like a possible bug. While attempting to export-import from VUE to CmapTools, I saved as XML ("IMS Resource List - XML"). The help pdf indicates that saving in this format should enable other systems that understand IMS standards to re-use the concept maps. In my case, the saved file included nothing except: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <resourceList> <resourceListMetadata> <title/> </resourceListMetadata> </resourceList>. i.e. the file contained nothing, despite there being about 50 nodes in teh concept map. VUE was also inableto open any of the XML formats exported from CmapTools.

Ken, unfortunately the forum has very limited capabilities, since it is dated and of the home brewed kind. It will be replaced with a full-scale forum system very soon.

Thank you for e-mailing me the XML example. I will forward it to Mike since I don't know much about the inner workings of VUE.
