is there a way to display SVG's like raster bitmaps (jpeg, png, ...)

I am not sure what you mean. SVG is a vector graphics format. JPEG/PNG has nothing to do with it.

... the command "Add Image/File", which seems to allow you to make a link between a node and a file, enables , in case of a raster bitmap, the display of the image. If this feature could be somehow applied to Scalable Vector Graphics; shouldn't that get rid of this nasty alising effect cased by the ZOOMing precudure. Especially math-formulas get really distorted on the way, when using PNGs & co....

I see. While it would be a nice feature for VUE to be able to render SVG within nodes, it won't happen until the next grant cycle. We simply don't have the resources to implement this currently. However, we would encourage the community to contribute code modifications that would enable features like this :)
