I am trailing the use of VUE as a documentation tool for a software development team.

I am using multiple VUE files which I am then linking together, I have a master VUE file which then links to several sibling VUE and other files, which in turn also have siblings.

I have found that when I save the master file as a VPK, its siblings are packed into the file, but files linked to those siblings are ignored.

I appreciate that this may be usage that VUE was not intended for, but it would be very useful to at least have the option to have the pack cascade through linked VUE files.

PS, This is the first diagram tool that I have found that will allow elements to have files etc attached. I have been searching for this tool for a long time...

Hi Craig,

This is an interesting use case you have. When we implemented the VPK feature, we didn't consider recursing down through linked maps. Once you enter this domain, it starts getting a bit more complicated since you need to keep track of the depth of the recursion, run cycle detection, etc.

Unfortunately, this hasn't made it to the development plan for the next release of VUE. However, since VUE is open source, any contributions to the source code will be appreciated.

Regards,
Nikolai
