I can't run VUE.exe it always reports error "Could not Create Java Machine". But when I run using VUE.jar everything is working ok. I reinstalled java machine, but it didn't help.
And I also can't install new version of VUE. It reports same error.
Also I can't uninstal VUE using Uninstall VUE.exe
And when I try to uninstall using uninstaller.jar it reports error: "Failed to load Main-Class manifest attribute from C:Program FilesVUEUninstallerDatauninstaller.jar"

This is a known bug with installer. We are trying different installer and also reported it to vendor.

So. Possible solution in my case if i want to use new version of VUE. I simply extract the files from new downloaded installer. Go to VUEInstallerDataDisk1InstDatahomevueuildVUE2srcuild and just use the VUE.jar

Do I lose any features of VUE if I do like this? Until now it works ok.

You will not lose any feature available in VUE. You will miss a few things istaller does
- associate .vue file to VUE.exe application
- register an icon for .vue files
- Create a short cut in program files

I don´t understand why the virtual machine coulden´t be created when I do have the latest java.

So I have the same problem as Daniel, but I have solved the issue when it comes to my already installed VUE 2.2.3:

- Go to C:Programvuevue.lax

- open the lax-file (which is a text-file) and change lax.nl.java.option.java.heap.size.max=1000000000 to
lax.nl.java.option.java.heap.size.max=

After this change in the text-file it´s no problem longer to open vue.exe.

But my problem still remain when it comes to launch the installanywhere-exe for the newest version of VUE. It doesn´t work because, as it says it could not create java virtual machine. I have the latest version of Java installed (1.6.7).

Can you developers change the above mentioned value in the lax-file in your new Vue, maybe then the java will be alright and one could install your new version???

Kind Regards

There is a bug with the installer which is why you are having trouble launching installanywhere, we have reported this to the vendor but are looking for an alternative at the moment.

As far as the lax-file line goes, we've gone back and forth on this in the past. As many of our users have wanted to map more sophisticated content, they've required larger heap sizes to accommodate doing this. By removing the line you've limited VUE to a 64MB heap which will be OK for some purposes and not for others. In the future, we'd like the heap size to be a true reflection of the hardware available on the target machine and we'll certainly be revisiting this as part of our current work on VUE 3.

Thanks for bringing additional details the issue.

Hey Jill,

Keep your up to date JAVA and VUE install then go to the following URL to download the replacement VUE-launcher-exe.
Extract the exe, cut or copy it to the VUE program folder, replacing the installed VUE.launcherl.exe.
This worked for me.
