Hello to everyone.
I'm new to the ontology concept and I'm not sure I've grasped it well, so I think it's better for me to give you an idea of what I'd like to do with your software and you tell me whether you think it's feasible, knowing that I'm not a developer, rather a psychologist who likes technology.

I'm about to start an ethographic research in burundi, on the introduction of Linux and the building of a local and localized expertise in system administration in that context.
I'd like to track my research by monitoring the people I'm interacting with, the relationship I have with them, and the resources they led me to or that lead me to them. All this, over time. So, for example: I call Jim (Type:person; relatinship with him: friend) who introduced me to Ray (Type:person, relationship: meta-friend) who pointed me to a website (type:dynamic resource) that I've used for my research. the actions connecting the elements should appear as labeled links, like CmapTools does. This constitutes a pathway to a certain resource.
So I imagined a mind map, with all these paths marked down, where at the end of the day I can selectively highlight all the elements responding to certain combination of criteria. In other words I'm looking for a visualisation of a relational database, and I'm wondering whether I could do that with VUE, having built an ontology somwhere else (How?) that I can than import or in some other way that I don't know (using categories?).

Any help will be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Paolo
