Crashes with .jar. Screen doesn't refresh with .exe  XML

If I'm running the .jar file to run VUE, it frequently crashes when drawing links.

If I'm running the .exe file, the screen doesn't refresh properly. Menus don't load... lots of grey space all over... that sort of thing.

Also, why are the forums running with a self-signed certificate which prevents Firefox and IE7 from loading the site?

Which operating system are you running VUE on? Which version of JVM do you have installed?

Win XP 64-bit. I've got about a half dozen JVMs, default is Java 5 (1.5?), 64-bit.

Hmm. See if one of the nightly builds resolves the issues. We've been putting in some fixes for multi-threading lately:

Also, what does the VUE Log (in the Help menu) say?

Unfortunately when it crashes, I can't get to the log.

I did find that it works fine if I edit the config file to use my normal JRE (instead of the one packaged with VUE) and then launch VUE with the .exe.

I am glad to hear that you resolved the issue. Unfortunately, we haven't tested the JRE we ship with VUE on 64-bit Windows machines. We will make note to test it.
