A new preview release of the next generation VUE is now available in the experimental corner in the download section. Some features to try in this prototype:

  • Layers - separate your nodes and links into multiple layers. Show, hide, and reorder layers.

  • Data Import - import data sets into VUE and build a visual representation

  • VUE Applet - load VUE directly into a web browser

Hi, all I see in the download section are the two 2.xxx releases: Vue 2.2.3 and Vue 2.3preview42. Where is exactly the download for Vue 3 Preview Release2?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

- Diego -

thank you for getting layers into the platform. They make a lot of things a lot easier.

In the layers window tool, there is a feature to hide other layers from view (so that you can focus on one layer at a time).
This feature had unpredictable results, including hiding the selected layer (as opposed to the rest of the layers).

Also: there is no apparent way of making a layer visible again. (as in, you can hide but you can't unhide)

I just tried this feature in the latest development build. It seems to work fine when you click on each layer thumbnail while "hide unselected layers" is enabled. However, you are right that clicking on the other parts of the layer name does not produce the desired effect. I will log this as a bug. Thank you.

When creating a new map and clicking File -> Save As in Windows XP Pro SP3, the new folder icon is deactivated in My Documents. In any other folder I can create a new folder. See the attachment for a screen shot.

Small problem, but thought worth mentioning.

In the preview releases, merging maps by node labels seems not to merge nodes with the same labels.
