Hi Harald: Thank you for your interest in VUE. I will add your request to the list of proposed enhancements for VUE II. It would also help us to know more about how you use VUE, and how the ability to add an image to the background will make VUE more useful to you.
Tried to send a longer post yesterday but seems it didn´t work. Anyway the main point was that I too really would want to add images in the map and as a background. As it is now I start "sketching" the maps in VUE - and if I want to make them useful for presentations or workshops I have to redraw them in Cmap. Images on a concept map are very very useful for fast and efficient communication in a live educational setting
Why not just use Cmap? Because it is much faster and easier to write and change colors, shapes etc in VUE. That is very important in the early "thinking" stages of mapping. So I really hope you want to implement this.
If I may express another wish it would be the possibility to hide and expand compressed nodes like in Cmap. Especially combined with images that would be great for moving between "overview" and "focus".
Thank you for a great program. I am investigating the commercial alternatives - but with just a little bit more functionality VUE could become a really great program.
