1. Although I downloaded a file labelled preview82 from the site, the program itself says it is preview80 in the initial splash screen and in the Help / About VUE menu (this gives the build date as 19DEC08). This suggests you might want to check your version management process.

2. When I try to reload an existing file, I get an error message (even though the load was otherwise completely successful). The error message is:

Failed to load map <my file name> java.lang.NullPointerException

3. I am not at all sure from reading the web site or looking at the Help section of the program that this forum is your preferred method of receiving bug reports from people looking at the preview releases. I would have preferred to see a "Report Bug" option in the Help menu, which takes you to a web form.

I am running the Windows XP build.

I am receiving the same Map error message (java.lang.NullPointerException). Prior to this message a dialogue appears stating that my file "cannot be opened in this version of VUE." Is version 2.3 expected to eventually be backward compatible with 2.23 files?

Hopefully this was a temporary regression failure. Is this still failing in the most recent releases? I'm not currently seeing failures in my set of regression test files.

If the more recent releases haven't fixed it, we'll need a sample of one of the failing files. We put in significant effort to keep older VUE files openable in newer versions, so this shouldn't be happening.

If someone posts one of these failing files I'll take a closer look.

tnx,
Scott
