i have been playing with vue for a few days, and i would like to thank and encourage everybody to continuo with the great work. I think is a great software, beating the commercial applications i have checked out.
here are some suggestions from using it
/ in a visual understanding environment i consider very important to have drawing capabilities, as everybody using it will have his own idosincracy, personal marks an signs. Basic verctor capabilities, like drawing shapes, lines, and transparency would greatly improve customization.
// also, for someone trying to use it as a note taking (as i do), the ability to output the paths in an orderly way to an editor (such as word) woud also be great. I mean to be able to create a word document where the nodes become headers and the notes become the text. From what i saw this can be somehow be achieved through exporting to pdf, but in my attempts to it, i fell quite far from making the text file a workable option (maybe is just me using it badly). I think this capability will bring a lot of other users into vue, people who are just writing his thesis, books, screenplays, etc, and can get from vue a much clearer view of the overall picture + keeping the editing of the text.
i am a baby java programmer, quite far from being able to help in the development of vue right now, but when i get to know my way around java i would really like to collaborate in the project.
anyway, congratulations and keep the good work

Indeed you are not the only one to request a linear text export filter for VUE. This will be particularly helpful for screenwriters. Unfortunately, this feature is out of scope for our current grant. However, it could as well become part of VUE 4 or a user-developed extension to VUE.
P.S. I will move this topic to the Wish List section so that we could track it as such.
