We are pleased to announce the release of VUE 2.3.

This release includes exciting new features and enhancements:

New features:
- Layers
- Depth of Selection
- Map-Based Searching
- Semi-automatic mapping
- Localization is well under way. VUE is now available in French, Spanish, Hungarian and Russian

Enhanced features:
- Interactive web graphic
- PDFs support multiple languages

Important bug fix:
- If VUE crashes while saving your map, you won't loose your map

We will be highlighting many of these new features during our May 5 webcast. (A link to the recording of the webcast will be available on May 6.)
Webcast info: https://vue-forums.uit.tufts.edu/posts/list/400.page

As always, we look forward to your feedback toward making VUE a unique and useful tool.

Best regards,

The VUE team.

great great great

it's a pleasure to use VUE in french !

some remarks
the ontologies are not translated
- has equivalent, has part ...

outline box should be called "arborescence"
layer box is called "layer" instead of "couches" the menu option to the layer box is called "disposition" while it should be called "couches"

line parameter "graisse" (thickness ?) should be translated as "épaisseur"

edit/préférences open preferences in english. btw I did not fin how to toggle interface language back to english

another thing : when I click the little question marks on the upper right of the boxes, nothing happens...

Hi Melanie,

seems to be that download link for Linux version installer, placed in site Download section, is broken. It is reported, that file not found by URL [http://releases.atech.tufts.edu/vue/v2.3/VUE_2_3_Linux_Installer.zip].

Anyway, thanks for response & great product.

Regards,
Dmitry Seredinov

Hi,

We have released VUE version 2.3.1. This version addresses two issues encountered in version 2.3.

VUE-1415: VUE won't work in any unspecified locale
VUE-1414: VUE does't save modified documents on Win32

You can get the lastes release from the download site: http://vue.tufts.edu/download/index.cfm

best wishes,
Anoop

I answered this question here: https://vue-forums.uit.tufts.edu/posts/list/0/426.page#1665

The ideal would be to make these suggestions on the French Translation topic. So you can collaborate with Bernard. (https://vue-forums.uit.tufts.edu/posts/list/369.page)
Can you repost your suggestions there?

That should be fix in the current daily build. (It does take a while to open)

I've posted a bug to look into this.

Thanks Remi!

I'm having trouble downloading the Mac OS X version (VUE_2_3_1.app.zip) from the Tufts download page (http://vue.tufts.edu/download/index.cfm).

I get:

Network Error (tcp_error)

A communication error occurred: ""

The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time. Click refresh on your browser, then contact the helpdesk if issue persists.

This doesn't happen when I download the Windows zip file, so I believe my network connectivity and proxy configuration are ok.

Is there an alternative place where I can get the same file?

Is this the right place to ask this question?

Thanks,

Edward
