Hi, I recently had a virus which was cleaned up and I upped my protection to PANDA.
Since then I cannot open any VUE files nor the VUE program from the start menu. The message in the subject comes up.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

You may need to update your Java, you can get the latest updates at http://www.javasoft.com.

If that fails you can try opening a DOS prompt navigating to the folder with VUE and running the command:

java -jar VUE.jar

If VUE fails to start you should get some info in the window that you can copy and paste into this thread so that we can help you debug this further.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks. Which JAVA do I need to down loan from http://developers.sun.com/downloads/?
There was a coffee cup icon in the lower right cornor tool bar of my computor saying there is a Java update available. When I tried to click on this, there was a small window that came up so quickly I couldnĀ“t read it and then the window and the coffee cup icon disappeared.
Thanks for any help.

I have the same problem. Each time I try to open VUE I get an error message from the Java Virtual Machine Launcher, saying "Could not create the Java Virtual Machine". I tried entering the command in DOS as Mike suggested and VUE opened then. However this is the only way in which I can get VUE to run. My Java Environment is up to date.
Any ideas on how to solve this would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Same problem here. I typed what you suggested Mike in the the Run window, but still no go. I'm running an up to date XP system with Java up to date (checked it on the Sun site).

I have the same problem (although I didn't have it before I installed the newest version).

If I open the properties of the VUE shortcut and change "C:\Program Files\VUE\VUE-launcher.exe" to "C:\Program Files\VUE\VUE.jar" it works fine.

Mike, it seems that the problem still happens (I had a student for whom the solution with the shortcut worked). Cheers, Jakub

I followed the instructions of this forum to solve the problem opening the program VUE, but always appears the message "Could not create the Java Virtual Machine ".
When I try to "C: \ Program Files \ VUE \ VUE.jar" part of a program that I installed on my pc "Nokia Ovi Suite".
I wait to know the solution that I can take. Thanks

May depend on the Java Console configurable settings from Control Panel?
Thanks

Fabio,

I didn't quite understand your previous post, about trying VUE.jar what's the relation to Nokia Ovi Suite?

I haven't used VUE before on my new cpu, but when I installed it I keep getting this error. The path isn't working for me either. Was a solution ever discovered for this? Thanks
