Following on from previous queries, I would like to link VUE 3 to Fedora (2.x). How can I go about this?

Separately, is there support for Fedora v3 yet?

Many thanks.

Hi Chris,

Here are the steps to add Fedora OSID in VUE and search the repository.

1. Click on Windows->Resources
2. Click the '+' button on the top right of the window that opens
3. Scroll though the list of available resources and select Fedora-2.2
4. Click the "Add" button at the bottom
5. Enter configuration information in the window that appears. (You don't have to enter username, password, and trustore information)
5a. You can also specify path to thumbnail images if that is available and standard across objects
6. Click 'Continue' button and that should ad "Fedora"
7. You can now perform a search on the repository in the resource window

The plugin developed for version 2.2 works with version 3.0 too.

best wishes,
Anoop

Thanks Anoop. Unfortunately, Fedora 2.2 does not appear as an option when I click on the + to see the list of possible options to add. How could I get it included on the list?

Hi Chris,

Sorry about the error. We forgot to move the Fedora 2.2 osid when we move to new system to provide OSID. It is available now.

best wishes,

Hello,

I would like to upload VUE maps and resources to a Fedora repository. Here are the steps I got through with success :
-Create a local Fedora repository
-Add this repository to the VUE resource list
-Search the local Fedora repository with VUE

Unfortunately, the File/Upload to Repository menu item remains greyed out. The VUE's resource properties window shows it's read only on the following line : Supports update?: The Resource Is Read Only. I read in the VUE User Guide that : "uploading is available only when the repository supports the feature and users have sufficient privileges to write to the repository".

I'm having trouble finding on the Web how to set up a Fedora repository to support uploads from VUE. Help to find such information would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance,

David Verville

I tried Vue too, a few years ago, but I did not like its feel. I am not saying it is a bad product, but Freeplane seems simpler to use.
