The twitter widget is broken, thanks for noticing, see @vueproject if you're interested. As for the copyright on the home page, it's pretty common for that to fall out of date but we should fix. Not sure what you're going for here. We'll be releasing VUE 3.1 shortly. All the code is managed through sourceforge, but we don't post releases there anymore because it's easier for us to maintain through our site. As you'll notice on the home page 3.0.2 was released this summer. VUE is written in Java, having done some C# work it's not all that different. Most of us, although not everyone uses Eclipse for an IDE. If you want help getting eclipse set up with the VUE source let me know, there's a thread on that in the Developers Corner forum.
Really, I like VUE a lot and didn't want to see it die, so I'm relieved to see that it's still active. For some reason, when I first came to this forum, it only showed the featured maps section and so I thought the forum was dead too - now that I viewed the full index, I can see that it really is active.
