Dear VUE Community,
The VUE Project is pleased to announce the immediate availability of VUE 3.1. This release of VUE extends the VUE 3.0 feature set with the added ability to map additional csv data layouts, as well as providing twenty-five bug fixes since the release of VUE 3.0.2 this summer, if you haven’t upgraded since VUE 3.0 there are 50 fixes to this version of VUE.
VUE 3.1 has been made possible through the efforts of the Academic Technology within UIT at Tufts University, insightful input from many application users, and the work of our volunteer translators. Additionally, VUE 3.1 contains important code contributions from developers outside the core team, a development we are thankful to the community for. Feature contributions we’ve received from the community include enhancements to our map exploration, filtering, new node shapes and semantic analysis tools.
The central feature of VUE 3.1 is based on a use-case developed for the mapping of input-output tables from the Bureau of Economic Analysis in conjunction with the work of faculty here at Tufts. However, we believe the latest feature to have general applicability for other research cases as well. More information on how to use this feature can be found in our online user guide: https://wikis.uit.tufts.edu/confluence/display/VUEUserGuide/03+Importing+a+matrix+dataset
Recently, VUE has surpassed 100,000 registered users, a mark of our ever-growing community. VUE’s continued growth and success will depend on the engagement and support of VUE users. Whether you’re interested in working on critical improvements to the software itself, moderating discussions in our forums, creating content for the website, or sharing your story with other users, there are countless ways to contribute to the community. If VUE is software you find valuable please consider how you might help shape and sustain the future of VUE.
Finally, VUE is always in need of developers looking to take on tasks both large and small, if you’re a software developer interested in contributing to VUE please let us know.
VUE 3.1 can be downloaded by visiting http://vue.tufts.edu. As with previous VUE releases, versions of VUE are available for Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux. VUE is Open Source, available at no cost, and released under the Education Community License Version 2.0.
Thank you,
The VUE Team

Can you turn this into a link? I cannot seem to find this user guide page (OK, OK, it's late here right now, so I should better have some sleep first...)
EDIT:
Sorry for answering myself: it appears to be on the wiki
https://wikis.uit.tufts.edu/confluence/display/VUEUserGuide/VUE+USER+GUIDE
(but it's not obvious how to get there when one visits the vue.tufts.edu web page); a Documentation menu item in the green bar might be in place!

I note that only version 3.0.2 is available from the home page and the download page, not the new version. I did find 3.1 amongst the daily builds. Is that the final release?
Cheers
Neil

Neil,
A user reported a critical regression in 3.1 that seemed as if it would be a bad idea to leave up so I reverted back to the 3.0.2 release for now. I will post a 3.1.1 in the next few days.

I suppose it will be very nice to have those sample matrix (csv files) in distribution or samples for downloanding alone

Hello
I was wondering if it was possible to use VUE 3 to automatically add pictures from my private Flickr sets and if so how. A pointer would be most welcome, thank you !
Cordially,
