I frequently operate on two (sometimes more) monitors, and this program has some problems if the monitor it's on is not the primary one. The biggest problem is that drop-down menus (for color, etc.) appear on the primary monitor even if the tool bar is on another one, so you can't use these menus at all, because as soon as you try to move the mouse towards the monitor where the menu appeared, it goes away again. I have to keep all tool bars on the primary monitor all the time, even if the application window is on another monitor.

Another more minor issue is that when I open a file, it always opens on the primary monitor (which in my case is much smaller), and it's zoomed way out. So I have to move it to the monitor I want it on, and then zoom back in, every time. Not that big a deal, but it's kind of annoying.

Darrel,

Not sure if its the same problem but someone reported improved performance on 2 monitors with a small configuration change to java here:

https://vue-forums.uit.tufts.edu/posts/list/981.page

I haven't tried it myself yet, but it may help. Let me know if it does and I can try to incorporate it into a standard build.

Thanks,
Mike

Doesn't seem to help. I did notice that it has the following notice: "Note: This problem exists in java version 1.6_010 - 1.6_013, but it is fixed in Java 1.6_014." Mine is listed as 1.6.0_20, so whatever problem that person was having, I'd assume it's been fixed in my version. (Even the control panel was slightly different than given in his directions.)
